Operational Definitions
The percentage of P1 students who failed the visual acuity test in the annual assessment in Student Health Service Centres of the Department of Health. Children with visual acuity test result of either eye greater than 0.3 using the LogMAR chart (equivalent to 6/12 or below on the Snellen Chart) are classified as “failed” in the test. Children who are already wearing spectacles are tested with spectacles.
