Operational Definitions

The percentage of population reporting victimized by violent crime in Victimization Survey. They are obtained by dividing rate of victimization (victimization per 1,000 population) by 10. Victimization is defined in the survey as the action that makes a person aged 12 and over or a household victimized. Although the Survey is conducted quite often, the interval between two surveys is not fixed. From 1982 onwards, five surveys have been conducted – 1982, 1987, 1990, 1995 and 1999.
