Step 1: Register

Conceptual Framework

  1. First-time users please register in the SI website for access to the data.
  2. Simply fill in your personal information and email address in the online-registration form.
  3. You will be required to login with your email address if you want to repeatedly access our data.
Step 2: Search by life domains (1st-level search)

Conceptual Framework

  1. To begin with, go to the pull-down menu of “Life Domain”.
  2. Select a subject area that you want from the pull-down menu. (red box) *
    * Please note certain subject areas are under construction.
  3. Upon your selection of life domain, the related “Indicators” and their “File Links” available will be shown.
  4. Click on the “File Link” of specific “Indicator” you want. (For instance, indicator : POP_1111)
  5. The system will ask you to submit your registered email address before downloading the data files.
Step 3: Narrow down search options by Goal Dimension (2nd-level search)

Conceptual Framework

  1. Sometimes there are so many file links available after selecting the Life Domains.
  2. You can narrow down your search by choosing the options in the pull-down menu of Goal Dimension.
  3. The system will then limit the resulted File Links according to your Goal Dimension.
  4. For instance, after selecting “demographic socio-economic structure” as goal dimension, the list of File Links shortened
  5. Click on the File Links you want and submit your email address to download the data files**.
    ** However, some indicators do not fit into particular Goal Dimensions. No data file will be available for download in such cases. For instance, no data file available if “objective living conditions” is selected as Goal Dimension in “population, households and families” domain.
Step 4: Locate specific search options by Measurement Dimension and Sub Dimension (3rd and 4th-level search)

Conceptual Framework

  1. Like Step 3, you can also use the Measurement Dimension (3rd-level search) and Sub Dimension (4th-level search) to concentrate on more specific data.
  2. For instance, after completion of Step 3, choose “social service for families” and “child care services” as the third and fourth-level search options respectively.
  3. The File Links available for download will then be further specified.
