操作定義
The number of domestic households living in temporary housing. Temporary housing includes public temporary housing and private temporary housing. Public temporary housing includes temporary quarters in the Hong Kong Housing Authority cottage areas and temporary housing areas. Private temporary housing includes private temporary structures such as roof-top structures, contractor’s matsheds, nissen huts, derelict boats, huts, and places not intended for residential purpose (such as landings, staircases, corridors, etc.).

All figures are collected from Census and Statistics Department since 1999. Figure for 1981 is extracted from Hong Kong 1986 By-Census Main Report Volume 1.
According to C&SD (25Sep2009), starting from the year 2001, annual figures derived from the General Household Survey (GHS) may be different from those in the earlier edition. For the previous edition, the annual figures are compiled based on the average data for the four quarters of the year concerned. Starting from this edition, these statistics are compiled based on data collected in the General Household Survey from January to December of the year concerned as well as mid-year population estimates.
