The number of victimizations of violent crimes reported in the Crime Victimization Survey. In the survey, violent crimes include rape and indecent assault on female, assault, robbery, blackmail and criminal intimidation. Victimization is defined in the Survey as the action that makes a person aged 12 and over or a household victimized. Figures used here refer only to personal crime. Although the Survey is conducted quite often, the interval between two surveys is not fixed. From 1982 onwards, five surveys have been conducted – 1982, 1987, 1990, 1995 and 1999.
All figures are collected from Census and Statistics Department since 1981.
