Operational Definitions
The number of persons receiving Disability Allowance and the number of CSSA recipients receiveing standard rates for disabled persons.

All figures are collected from Social Welfare Department since 1986. Number of disabled CSSA recipients is an estimate only. All figures refer to financial year, e.g., figure for 1981/82 is used for 1981.
Further to SWD (13Mar 2008), The SSA and the CSSA Schemes were introduced in July 1993 to replace the former SNA and PA Scheme respectively. Statistics for 1981/82, 86/87 and 91/92 refer to the corresponding figures in the SNA and PA Schemes. 50% disabled elderly aged 60+ are ground under "Able-bodied/ 50% disabled" are not covered in this indicator from 2001/02.
