Operational Definitions
The percentage of Legislative Council offices held by members who are directly elected by general public. As direct election was introduced into the Legislative Council since 1991, no data are available for years before 1991. In 1997, a Provisional Legislative Council was formed by the Central Chinese Government to replace the old one. So, there was no elected member in 1997.
