Operational Definitions

The number of sports facilities under Urban Services Department and Regional Services Department (which had not yet been set up in 1981). Sports facilities include: grass fames pitches, hard-surfaced mini soccer pitches, basketball/volleyball/badminton courts (which refer to the summation of the maximum number of basketball courts, volleyball courts and badminton courts that can be demarcated individually on relevant UC facilities), tennis courts, running tracks, beaches, swimming pools, indoor games halls (multi-purpose), other sports grounds including, obstacle golf courses, squash courts, practice tennis courts, bowling greens, roller skating rinks, and table tennis tables; for other years, turf pitches, hard-surfaced mini soccer pitches, basketball/volleyball/badminton courts (which refer to the summation of the maximum number of basketball courts, volleyball courts and badminton courts that can be demarcated individually on relevant UC/RC facilities), tennis courts, squash courts, bowling greens, obstacle golf courses, roller skating rinks, athletic grounds, jogging tracks/fitness trails, beaches, swimming pool complexes, indoor games halls (multi-purpose) and indoor recreation centers, fitness centers, sports centers, water sports centers, horse riding school, holiday camp.
